  • Overview

    Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Vocational Services, the Job Developer will assist individuals with disabilities to identify realistic employment opportunities based on experience, education, training, skills and aptitude.  The Employment Specialist/Job Developer is responsible for developing employment opportunities for people enrolled in Skills Unlimited's work training and supported employment programs.  In addition, job coaching, assessment and counseling supports are provided to individuals during initial phases of employment to support their training and acclimation to their jobs.

    • Assist individuals with disabilities to find employment in the community, in accordance with the individual’s preferences, capacities and personally developed goals.
    • Implement systematic instructional programs to train the worker to perform l required job duties accurately and efficiently.
    • Develop community-based employment opportunities for people we support through regular employer contacts, public relations and community interaction.
    • Provide individualized, ongoing and intensive job coaching on and off the job site for newly employed.
    • Ensure all required documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner. 


    • High School Diploma/GED required, Associate’s Degree preferred
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office required
    • Willingness and ability to be on call
    • Valid NYS Driver’s License and meets the requirements to be an agency driver
