    Responsibilities

    PROS Peer Specialist is responsible to articulate and model the recovery philosophy of the PROS program. Peer Specialist is responsible for running a variety of groups that focus on the mental health barriers that prevent program participants from achieving their self-identified life goals such as going back to work, living independently, going back to school and improving their overall quality of life.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Facilitate a variety of therapy groups daily and weekly aimed at helping individuals develop the skills needed to move forward on their life goals.
    • Communicate as part of a team to ensure best possible treatment for the individuals in program
    • Completing documentation including but not limited to group notes, daily sign in/out, community meeting agenda, and any reviewable incidents.
    • Perform Lunch and Bus duty on regular basis as assigned
    • Adhere to the organizations Code of Ethics
    • Always communicate in a respectful manner with all people including the people we support, supervisors, other valued team members, and members of the community.
    • Complete all required trainings.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Prevent, recognize and report abuse toward the people we support
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • Peer Certification preferred
    • Ability to use computer for documentation, research and teaching others
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Valid driver’s license preferred
