  • Overview

    Overseen by the Clinic Program Director at the MH Clinic. The prescriber (PA/NPP) is responsible to evaluate the psychiatric needs of individuals presented with mental health challenges, assist with the development of an Individual’s Treatment Plan and to prescribe and oversee the medication regimen of individuals receiving clinical services with the program. The prescriber will refer individuals for appropriate services as needed. The prescriber will ensure that there is a team effort to provide overall high quality mental health services and work closely with all team members.


    • Effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission, vision and values
    • Prescribe, monitor and adjust medications for individuals receiving clinical services.
    • Utilize electronic medical record to complete required documentation as required by regulation and within mandated time frames.
    • Complete requested paperwork from clinic staff and/or clients when needed
    • Provide on-call support as requested/needed.
    • Prevent, recognize and report abuse toward the people we support
    • Assess and diagnose individuals
    • Adhere to the organizations Code of Ethics
    • Always communicate in a respectful manner with all people including the people we support, supervisors, other valued team members, and members of the community.
    • Complete all required trainings.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Take part in new treatment initiatives including but not limited to, integrated care, smoking cessation treatment and co-occurring disorders treatment
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Receive ongoing supervision from clinic Psychiatrist


    • Degree as a Master Physician Assistant or a Master of Science in Nursing
    • At least five years’ experience as in the Psychiatry specialty
    • Valid driver’s license with no more than 8 points
    • No convictions for crimes that preclude a person from working with members of a vulnerable population


    • MD/DO/NP license actively registered with the Office of Professions
    • Active NPI with DEA, Medicaid and Medicare numbers/privileges
